About Erin Charabin
Erin Charabin has proudly served with the RCMP in Saskatchewan since joining the force in 2005. Over the past 21 years, she has built a career grounded in service, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to the people and communities she serves.
Her policing experience spans frontline urban and rural policing, First Nations communities, School Liaison Officer duties, General Investigative Section and most recently 6 years in the Internet Child Exploitation Unit. Working in ICE exposed Erin to some of the most difficult and traumatic realities of policing, while reinforcing the importance of protecting children and supporting victims. It also strengthened her belief that meaningful change requires courageous leadership, a willingness to challenge status quo, a strong voice advocating for members and their families.
Erin earned her degree in Police Studies from the University of Regina and was the first female to graduate from the program. In 2020, she became a Local Area Representative with the NPF, where she has passionately advocated for members, listened to their concerns, and worked tirelessly to improve workplace conditions, member wellness, and organizational accountability.
Throughout her career, Erin has been driven by one simple purpose: helping people. Whether supporting victims, mentoring colleagues, or advocating for meaningful organizational change, she believes leadership is about listening, standing up for others and having the courage to pursue better solutions.
Erin is passionate about developing future leaders and believes the RCMP must continue evolving to better support its members, their families, and the communities they serve. She is committed to fostering a culture built on respect, wellness, accountability, and strong leadership because she believes the RCMP can, and must, do better.
Outside of policing, Erin is a proud wife and devoted mom. Family is at the heart of everything she does. She enjoys traveling, cheering on the Edmonton Oilers, camping, walking, reading and spending countless hours supporting her children’s sporting activities. These experiences keep her grounded and remind her of the importance of balance, resilience and community.
Erin continues to lead with integrity, determination, and the belief that one voice-when backed by action- can inspire meaningful change.
