Whether you were deployed to a FIFA-related assignment or remained in your community providing policing services, your experience matters.
The NPF is seeking Member feedback to identify lessons learned and help inform discussions with the RCMP on improvements for future major event deployments. Please complete the survey that applies to your experience by Sunday, August 16, at midnight P.T.
All responses are anonymous and will be reported in aggregate.
Which Survey Should You Complete?
Survey 1: Members Deployed to FIFA Operations
Complete this survey if you participated in a FIFA-related deployment, including SCORE26, Federal Policing assignments, transportation-related deployments, or other FIFA operational assignments. This survey will take roughly 20 minutes to complete and is critical to documenting Members’ experiences.
Survey 2: Members Who Remained in Their Home Detachment or Unit
Complete this survey if you remained in your community during FIFA/SCORE26 operations and continued providing policing services while other Members were deployed. This survey will take roughly five minutes to complete and will help illustrate the impacts of FIFA on Members.
Why Your Feedback Matters
Too often, by the time Members experience problems with scheduling, accommodations, meals, travel, staffing, equipment, communications or workload, the operational plan has already been developed, and decisions have already been made. At that point, the NPF and Members are left trying to address problems after they have already been operationalized.
We want to change that. Members’ experience, knowledge, and perspectives need to be part of the planning process before major decisions are finalized. Collecting your feedback gives the NPF the evidence we need to advocate for NPF involvement on your behalf with information that goes beyond individual examples or anecdotal concerns.
Our resulting report will capture what Members experienced, identify recurring issues, show what worked well, and make evidence-based recommendations about what should be done differently while there is time to change how the next event is planned.
Ultimately, we want the lessons from FIFA/SCORE26 to influence how future major events are planned which means ensuring your voices are heard now to identify issues before thousands of Members are deployed.
That is why taking time to complete this survey matters. Your experience today can help the NPF advocate for a better experience for Members tomorrow.
Sincerely,
The National Police Federation Board
