About Mark Fraser

Mark Fraser was born and raised on Canada’s east coast and grew up in an RCMP family. It was here that Mark developed a strong appreciation for community, hard work, and integrity, values that have guided him throughout his policing career. He is married, and together they have one son.

After graduating from Depot in 2007, Mark began his RCMP career in Red Deer and has proudly served his entire 18-year career within Alberta’s K Division. His operational experience includes postings in Red Deer, Lethbridge, and St. Albert, where he has worked in frontline policing, organized crime investigations, general investigations, and serious crimes. These diverse assignments have provided him with a broad understanding of the challenges and realities faced by Members across a wide range of policing environments.

In addition to his operational duties, Mark has served as a Tactical Training Instructor, delivering training in Police and Public Safety (PPSI), Firearms, Conducted Energy Weapons (CEW), Extended Range Impact (ERIW), and Immediate Action Rapid Deployment (IARD). He also served as a Peer Advisor for the K Division Peer-to-Peer Program, supporting Members through challenging personal and professional circumstances. These roles reinforced his commitment to Member safety, wellness, professional development, and operational readiness.

For the past five years, Mark has served as an NPF Local Area Representative for the Central Alberta District and K Division. Through both his labour relations and operational experience, he has gained valuable insight into the issues that matter most to Members. Mark is committed to bringing a decisive, informed, and Member-focused perspective to the Board, ensuring the NPF continues to evolve and effectively advocate for the needs of RCMP Members across Alberta and Canada.
