Get ready, Canada—the RCMP Musical Ride is touring in 2025, with stops in Alberta, Quebec, and the Northwest Territories. This isn’t just a horse show—it’s a stunning display of tradition, teamwork, and horsemanship that’s uniquely Canadian.
Here’s why this unforgettable experience can’t be missed and deserves a spot on your must-see list.
The Musical Ride features up to 32 skilled riders and their beautiful horses, performing stunning choreography with formations and drills set to music.

Every rider needs at least two years of experience as serving RCMP police officer before joining. Musical Ride Members have worked in various roles from General Duty Members to specialized policing services.

Before they hit the road, these officers go through rigorous training to master the high-level skills behind those jaw-dropping maneuvers. This intense preparation not only sharpens their physical abilities but also equips them with critical strategies they rely on every day when they return to the line of duty.
Each winter, riders are matched with their horses, forming a partnership that lasts the entire year. While the RCMP is known for forging lifelong bonds among its Members, the connection between rider and horse is also vital. This deep trust and understanding are essential for performing with precision and unity.

The Musical Ride dates back to 1876! It was created to showcase the riding skills of the North-West Mounted Police, with officers performing all over Canada and beyond.

One of the most famous formations is the “Dome.” It was even featured on an earlier version of the Canadian fifty-dollar bill!

The Musical Ride is more than a show – it helps raise money for local charities and non-profits through its performances.

A proud symbol of Canadian heritage, the RCMP Musical Ride is recognized and celebrated around the world. RCMP Members have even played key roles in historic moments, such as escorting the Royal Family during visits to Canada, or having a prominent role in the State Funeral for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

The Musical Ride tours up to 50 communities across Canada each year. This summer, they’ll be visiting Alberta, Quebec, and the Northwest Territories. You can check the Musical Ride’s website for stops in upcoming year’s tours too!

Riders aren’t just performers; they’re ambassadors for the RCMP, and you get to hang out with them after the show. Don’t forget to grab a photo and ask the riders some questions!
