The NPF are aware of the recent sensationalized video involving a Member in Protective Services, and have been following the media and social coverage.
The NPF is directly supporting the Member through our Board and Member Services Centre.
In assessing whether to issue a more public response, the NPF considers what is best for those involved and all Members. Media stories rely on conflict in one form or another. In this situation, given the politicized motivations of the initiating media platform, we believe that a statement from the NPF would only inflame the story, leading to additional negative media stories from this and other media, making the situation worse by giving their version of the story more airtime.
