Can I claim a meal during my Overtime (OT) or outside a scheduled shift on a designated paid holiday (DPH)?
If in travel status, more than 16 km from your home unit, a Member, is entitled to claim a meal as per NJC directives. they are also entitled to an additional 30-minute meal break every four hours as per Article 25.07, and if unable to take it, you can claim it at a rate of x1.5 as specified in the collective agreement. Can I claim travel expenses, including mileage reimbursement when I receive medical treatment outside of my local area?
Expenses, including mileage for Occupational Healthcare treatment can be reimbursed and must be preauthorized by your Unit Commander, who may verify the travel requirement with the HSO.
Expenses, including mileage for Supplemental Healthcare treatment, if a qualified health care provider is not available within 24 km of the work site, may also be reimbursed for travel from your worksite to the provider and must be preauthorized by your Unit Commander. The HSO may determine the closest medical provider.
Expenses, including mileage for Basic Healthcare treatment is not eligible for reimbursement by the RCMP. You are encouraged to contact your regional or provincial health authorities to determine what reimbursement are in place for mileage for treatments outside your community. (e.g.: cancer treatments that are not occupational). AM XIV.1.7 provides criteria under which travel requests can be considered.
