Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with identified Data Stakeholders (Stewards, Custodians) to ensure Data Governance policies and procedures are being applied consistently. 
  • Identify data quality issues to relevant stakeholders, propose remediation avenues to address the issue and ensure the issue is resolved. 
  • Support the Data Engineer and IT Operations Analyst with monitoring the data health and lifecycle in the various departmental systems. 
  • Validate effective ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes within Azure created by Data Engineer to ensure they meet business requirements. 
  • In conjunction with the Data Engineer, contribute to the design and development of logical and physical data models that align with business requirements and best practices, maximizing data integrity and quality. 
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis using SQL, Azure Databricks, or other relevant Azure Analytics tools. 
  • Create compelling dashboards, reports and visualizations using Power BI or similar tools, effectively communicating key findings to stakeholders. 
  • Responsible for translating data insights into tangible recommendations for the business. 
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, provide insights, identify solutions to resolve those needs across the organization. 
  • Provide training around data collection, quality and maintenance.  
  • Implement data cleansing and validation processes to maintain a high level of data accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate on organizational-wide projects, through the Project Support Office, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of proven experience as a Data Analyst, with a strong focus on Azure cloud technologies.
  • Azure certification (e.g., Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer Associate).
  • Experience with Azure data services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, and/or Azure SQL Database.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL concepts.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
  • Understanding of machine learning principles.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment enhanced criminal record check.
  • Mastery of SQL for data querying, transformation, and analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Experience with programming languages like Python or R (for data manipulation and statistical analysis).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for working with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal capabilities, including the ability to build professional relationships across all aspects and levels of the NPF. 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.    
  • High level of attention to detail.       
  • Ability to multi-task; take the initiative; be proactive; flexible.       
  • Ability to work under pressure and continuous deadlines.

  • Must be available for overnight travel approximately four times per year.

Compensation: 

The starting base salary, depending on qualifications/experience, for this position is between $71,984.64 – $83,982.08 range. The maximum salary for the role is $107,976.96. The ability to advance through the salary range will be based on performance through our performance management program.
