About Jake Foran

Jake Foran is a general duty Corporal with the RCMP, having served in Nova Scotia from 2008-2014 (Baddeck and Arichat) and in Newfoundland and Labrador (Bay St. George) since 2014. His work in front-line policing has focused mainly on impaired driving investigations and warrant writing. In recent years, he has committed to improving the wellness of Members, raising awareness and decreasing the stigma related to operational stress injuries of RCMP officers.  

After proudly serving as an NPF Local Area Representative since 2019, Jake was elected as a Board Director for the Atlantic/Central Region in 2024. As part of this role, he is a member of the Audit and Finance Committee as well as the National Police Federation Benevolent Foundation Board. 

Jake is originally from Bathurst, New Brunswick but now resides in Western Newfoundland. He has a Bachelor of Arts from St. Thomas University. He and his wife, also a Member of the RCMP, have two kids and he is happiest with his family, on a snowmobile or with a salmon rod in his hand.    

Key Accomplishments:

  • Recipient of the MADD Canada Team Nick Coates award in 2021 for efforts detecting and apprehending impaired drivers.  
  • Is committed to giving back to Members, and spent five years as an NPF Local Area Representative for Members in Newfoundland. 
  • Elected as NPF Atlantic/Central Director in June 2024.
