About Britt Bancroft
Britt Bancroft joined the RCMP in 2006. He was first posted in Fort McMurray, Alberta, where he gained valuable experience in urban policing. In 2009, he answered a priority call for Members to serve in the North. Growing up in various communities in the Northwest Territories, Britt, whose father was also a Member of the RCMP, has a passion for the North and serving its people and communities.
From 2009 to 2011, Britt was part of a two-person post in Tulita, N.W.T. He was then transferred to the Relief Unit and considers himself fortunate for the opportunity to serve many communities throughout the Division. In 2012, he moved to the Yellowknife Detachment, where he was able to gain experience working in many roles and areas including the Court Section, Crime Reduction Unit, Major Crime Unit, and the Historical Case Unit.
Prior to joining the RCMP, Britt worked in a large diamond mine as a heavy equipment operator. In this role, he was introduced to labour relations and carried this passion forward to his service with the RCMP. After proudly serving as an NPF Local Area Representative since 2019, Britt was elected as a Board Director for the Pacific/North Region in 2024. As part of this role, he is sits on the Member Services and the Governance Committees.
