About Lucas Bedard
Lucas Bedard has 17 years of Federal Policing experience as a Member of the RCMP. His was first posted in the Northern Quebec Federal Investigation Unit and worked on major events including the North American Leaders’ Summit in 2007 and the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, and took part in northern relief in Nunavut in 2008. In 2010, Lucas joined the Canadian Air Carrier Protection Program (CACPP)where he worked as an In-flight Security Officer (IFSO) and handled logistics and managed operational schedules. He joined the Protective Operations Branch in Montreal in 2015 and helped plan several events with high profile individuals from all over the world, including the 2016 North American Leaders’ Summit, G7, COP 15, and Federal elections. In 2020, Lucas joined the Special O unit in Montreal where he participated in several highly regarded federal criminal investigations.
After proudly serving as a Local Area Representative for the NPF since 2020 and as an AGM delegate in 2023, Lucas was elected as a Board Director for the Atlantic/Central Region in 2024. As part of this role, he serves on the Staffing and Promotion Committee, the National Police Federation Benevolent Foundation (NPFBF) Board, the Divisional Labour-Management Consultation Committee (LMCC) Committee, and the Divisional Health and Safety Committee.
Lucas was born and raised in the suburbs of Montreal and is fluent in both French and English. He is the proud father of two athletic, energetic, and beautiful children and is happily married to his wife, who is a very successful entrepreneur. Without her support, he would not be the man he is today. In his free time, he likes to keep fit by running, biking, and playing soccer.
