The National Police Federation is the sole certified bargaining agent for regular Members and reservists of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, below the rank of Inspector. We are the largest police labour organization in Canada, representing nearly 20,000 Members serving across Canada and internationally.

Our Teams
Member Representation
The Member Representation Department is comprised of several programs designed to ensure NPF Members are represented at all levels in accordance with the NPF’s mandate of providing strong, fair, and progressive representation to its Membership. Member Services Dispatchers, Local Area Rep. Coordinators, Labour Relations Officers, and the NPF’s internal legal team all work collaboratively to ensure Members are offered accurate information and implement the appropriate representation strategy when Members are facing labour issues.
Government Relations and Policy
The NPF’s Government Relations and Policy team is focused on being a leader in public safety and policing issues to better the lives of our Members and the communities they serve. We undertake extensive research, issues monitoring and develop integrated strategies to engage with all levels of government and stakeholders to shape public policy and influence government decision making to achieve effective results.
Communications
NPF’s Communications Team is passionate, strategic, well-punctuated, and responsive to our Members’ needs. We work across Canada to build support for Members and their work, and help advocate for their interests. We do this through social media, videos, media relations, our WhyWeServe and NPF websites, and other outreach. We make sure that work is fun, everyone gets a chance to learn new things, and we support each other. We hope you’ll follow some of our work on our social channels.
Information Management
Information Management at the NPF provides the technology and data expertise that drives our mission of strong representation for our Members. We manage data, maintain essential systems, and ensure cybersecurity – empowering Members to excel in their service and achieve the NPF’s mission of providing strong, fair and progressive representation to Members.
Finance and Administration
The NPF Finance & Administration Department’s primary focus is to support the strategic priorities and overall mission for the NPF, from an administrative and financial perspective. Through the application of internal controls, budgetary management, accounting policies, and financial reporting, we strive to be great stewards of all resources in support of mission-driven strategic decision-making to maximize value for our Members.
