SDP/MDP ULP Hearing Postponed
We want to thank all of you who shared stories of being unable to participate in the SDP/MDP due to operational resource requirements and shortages. This hearing was scheduled for November 7-9, 2018 but due to a last-minute request from DOJ counsel (illness), the hearing has been postponed until December 17-18, 2018. We will continue to update on this as it evolves.
Start of QMPMA Constitutional Hearing
This hearing is scheduled to begin next week in both Montreal and Ottawa in two consecutive locations. These hearings are open to the public, so members can attend if you wish.
November 19-21 in Montreal:
Canadian Industrial Relations Board,
1501 McGill College Avenue, 9th Floor, Montreal, PQ
November 22-23 in Ottawa:
Federal Public Service Labour Relations and Employment Board,
240 Sparks Street, 7th Floor West Tower, Ottawa, ON
As the witness lists have been finalized, it has become clear to counsel (DOJ and QMPMA) that one week will not allow enough time to complete the hearing, so the FPSLREB is now looking for additional dates in 2019 to continue and conclude this hearing. Once we know more, we will update you.
As we lead up to the voting period from November 21 to December 20, it is more important than ever for all members to join the NPF to be kept aware of the voting process. Please share this information with your colleagues who have not yet made their decision to join the NPF.
