NPF makes request of FPSLREB

As we updated on April 18 (Certification vote to proceed – results to be sealed pending Board ruling), members of the RCMP will have the opportunity to vote this spring to certify the NPF as their bargaining agent.

The FPSLREB also ordered that the votes not be tallied until the Constitutional challenge brought forward by the QMPMA has been heard and decided.

In the interest of expediency and moving the FPSLREB forward, the NPF met with counsel on and as a result, the NPF submitted this request to the FPSLREB regarding how the upcoming vote could be handled to address the QMPMA challenge and seeking some clarification on other matters. You can read our request here: (Letter to FPSLREB April 19, 2018).

Essentially, the NPF is asking for the ballots used in the upcoming vote, in Quebec, to include a choice between the NPF, QMPMA and no association. The NPF is confident we have majority support in Quebec compared to the QMPMA as we presently have close to 350 members signed up in Quebec.

As we get closer to the vote, we would ask all members of the NPF to reach out to their colleagues in C Division and ask them to join the NPF if they have not already. Let’s get the membership united and make this vote a strong message for the need for unity and a desire for collective representation.

We will continue to keep you posted as information becomes available to prepare for this historic, certification vote. In the meantime, here are three things you do to help.
