As members of the RCMP, we get conditioned to paying our own money up front and then waiting for our expenses to be reimbursed. Those deployed to the G-7 have long since returned to their home units and the NPF has heard from numerous members that expense claims submitted via TEAM, almost a month ago, have yet to be approved or even acknowledged in any capacity. This is unacceptable.
To that end, the NPF wrote to D/Comm Michaud, Federal Operations, to express our concern about the lack of action on members being denied their rightful timely expense reimbursement, sometimes in the thousands of dollars. You can read our letter here (link).
Expense claims have been a long-standing issue and many of you want the RCMP to modernize how these are dealt with. We heard you and this is an issue we will be advocating for change, once certified. Members should not be expected to pay up front and then “hope” they get reimbursed some time in the future.
