NPF Application closes – two groups apply to intervene

As many of you know, the PSLREB closing date was May 26, 2017. That date has passed and we have been notified that two groups have applied for the right to intervene in the NPF application, the Canadian Police Association (CPA) and L’Association des Membres de la Police Montée du Québec (AMPMQ).

You can read their submissions here:

We are disappointed that the AMPMQ has decided to continue with their application to become the bargaining agent solely for members of the RCMP in Quebec rather than join all RCMP members in one strong national body, but we respect their choice.

The PSLREB will now require a hearing to decide if one, both or neither of the applications are valid. This is unfortunate as it adds an unnecessary delay for a hearing instead of moving directly to a member vote.

We will continue to update you on our certification progress. In the meantime, here are three other things you can do to help.

  1. Join the NPF.  Click here.
  2. Share this information with your colleagues.
  3. Stay informed by downloading our app on iTunes or Google Play. (You don’t need to join or share your personal email to use our app.)

Sincerely,

NPF Signatures
