FPSLREB rules to join NPF and QMPMA applications, following NPF motion

As previously updated on July 21 and August 18 the NPF filed a motion with the Federal Public Service Labour Relations and Employment Board (FPSLREB) to join the QMPMA and NPF applications for certification.

On October 11, the FPSLREB has ruled that both applications will be joined and they have determined that one national bargaining agent representing all members below the rank of Inspector is what will be. You can read their entire ruling here: (FPSLREB ruling)

As you can see from this infographic, we are still in Phase 2 but moving along, albeit slowly.

The FPSLREB will now seek written submissions from the NPF, the QMPMA and the CPA (as an intervenor) and will determine if the NPF or the QMPMA meet the requirements to be the sole national bargaining agent. Once this ruling is received, the FPSLREB will convene a hearing to finalize outstanding issues and order a vote.

We know this has been a long and frustrating process, but we are making progress and have overcome this hurdle. We appreciate your ongoing patience, support and interest.
