“Marked annually in Canada on April 28, the National Day of Mourning is dedicated to remembering those who have lost their lives, or suffered injury or illness on the job or due to a work-related tragedy.”
This is a story that lands close to home and that our community is all too familiar with. Members and their families knowingly accept the risks of working as a police family. Regardless of the accepted known risks of policing, it is our desire that no Member ever suffer injury or death as a result of their employment.
Join us on April 28 as we’ll be hearing from Todd Doherty, Conservative member of parliament for Cariboo-Prince George, BC about what it means to him when a Member is injured on duty, or we lose a Mountie on duty or as a result of their battle with mental health. This event will be live streamed into the NPF Family Services Facebook group, but we’re providing a registration for those who prefer to tune in via Zoom. Newsletter subscribers will receive the replay.
