Here at NPF, we’ve made it our business to improve the overall wellbeing of Members and their families as a way of supporting operational effectiveness, reducing burn-out, and strengthening connections.
Because February is Recreation Therapy month, we’ll be sharing some ways you can enrich your experience and strengthen your connections through leisure and play. Later in the month, we have a special guest coming in to share some information around Therapeutic Recreation that will highlight how we can intentionally use our downtime as a family to develop resilience and recover from trauma.
Today, we’d like to share a conversation around therapeutic recreation. We welcome Dr. Lauren Cripps, PhD, CTRS, Program Evaluation Specialist, Educator and Mental Health Practitioner, and CTRA Central Director and Co-Chair of the Mental Health Community of Practice’s Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association. She is passionate and knowledgeable about mental health and the role that therapeutic recreation, leisure, play and free time plays in prevention and recovery from the impacts of trauma. We hope you find this conversation informative and empowering.
